Frequently Asked Questions
These are the questions people ask us before they rent, with straight answers. For anything else, call Emilio at 361-200-1492.
Prices and your rent
How much is a storage unit in Rockport?
It depends on the size and on whether you want climate-controlled or drive-up. Our prices are on our home page, with the date they were read, so you can see what a unit costs before you call. The 10x10, which we have more of than any other size, comes in both types.
What happens when the introductory discount ends?
You pay the full monthly price for your unit, which is the standard rate listed for your size when you rented. Rent is due in full on the 1st of each month. We can tell you the exact date your own discount ends if you'd like to check.
Can my rent go up later?
Yes, rates can change over time, and you'll get at least 30 days' written notice before any change, which can come by email. If you have a question about your own rate, give us a call and we'll go through it with you.
Sizes and what to store
What size storage unit do I need?
Start with the rooms you're emptying: a 10x15 holds a one-bedroom home, appliances included, and a 10x20 holds a two-bedroom apartment with its appliances. Measure your longest piece first, because length usually runs out before floor space does. We rent 13 sizes, and the size guide shows what fits in each one.
What does climate-controlled storage actually do on the coast?
Our climate-controlled units are inside the building, on a heating and cooling system that keeps them within a steady temperature range. Some people call it temperature controlled storage. It's a good fit for paper, fabric, wood, upholstery and electronics, and 298 of our 558 units are climate-controlled.
What flood zone is your property in?
FEMA's flood map puts our property in Zone X, an area of minimal flood hazard (Aransas County panel 48007C0240G, effective Feb 17, 2016).
What can I store in a storage unit?
You can store most household and business belongings, such as furniture, boxes, appliances, tools, files, stock and seasonal gear. These stay out of the units: anything alive, food, fuel, gas cans, propane tanks, batteries, flammable chemicals, explosives, fireworks, ammunition and hazardous materials. If you have a question about an item, ask us before you bring it.

Renting, access and help
Can I rent online, and how do I get in the first time?
Yes, you can rent online: the Rent Now button takes you to our rental page, where you pick your size, fill in your details and sign the lease, and it usually takes ten minutes or less. Your gate code comes by email and works as soon as you get it. Bring your own lock for the unit door.

What are your gate hours, and can I get in at night?
Gate hours are 5 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, so you can get in early in the morning and until 10 every night. Your own gate code opens it, which suits most people's trips before and after work. From shortly after 10 PM, the climate-controlled buildings are on a monitored alarm.
Do you rent moving trucks?
We focus on storage units, so you'll bring your own truck or a mover's. With a drive-up unit you park right at your unit door and unload, and every unit is at ground level, which makes moving in a lot easier.
