Do You Know Rockport? — Official Rules

Do You Know Rockport? is a weekly drawing run by Siyata Storage Rockport LLC, 825 W Market St, Rockport, TX 78382 ("Siyata Storage" or "we"). Each week we plan to print one Rockport-history question in the Rockport Pilot. Answer it correctly and you are in the drawing for that question's $100 toward storage. No purchase necessary. You do not need to be a customer to enter or to win. By entering, you agree to these rules. If an ad, a column, a post, an email or any other page of this website says something different from these rules, these rules apply.
How to enter
- Find the question in the Rockport Pilot, in the paper or online.
- Scan the QR code in the ad or go to siyatastorage.com/doyouknow.
- On the entry form, give the question's number or tell us what the question was, then add your answer and your first and last name, phone number, email and town.
Each question has a number and is open for about a week: from the Thursday it appears in the Rockport Pilot until 11:59 PM Central time the following Wednesday, unless we extend or reschedule it. Its ad prints the deadline as a date. An entry counts for the question that is open when it reaches us, whether it gives the question's number or tells us what the question was. If the number or the description points to a different question, the entry does not count. We decide which question an entry is for. Only entries sent on the entry form count, and only if they are complete and reach us before the deadline. The time our website records is the official time. One entry per person per question. Entries that share a phone number or an email address count as one entry, and only the first one counts.
Dates can change
The days, dates, deadlines and schedule in these rules, in the Rockport Pilot, on Facebook and on this website are our plan, not a promise. We may delay, extend, skip or reschedule any question, drawing or answer post, at any time, with or without notice. We do not close an open question before the deadline printed in its Rockport Pilot ad, except to stop cheating or to fix a technical problem.
Who can enter
You can enter if you live in the United States and are an adult where you live. These people cannot enter: the owners, employees, contractors and agents of Siyata Storage, and of the Rockport Pilot and its publisher; anyone who had a copy of the answers before a question closed; and the immediate families and households of all of them.
We may set a limit on how many prizes one person or one household can win. A limit applies only to questions that open after it is posted here.
The prize
One drawing for each question, at random among the correct entries, planned for the Thursday after the question closes. The winner receives $100 toward storage at Siyata Storage. If no entry is correct, no prize is given for that question.
We contact the winner by phone or email. Before the credit goes on an account, we may ask the winner to show photo ID, confirm the entry details, and sign a short statement that they qualify and accept these rules. If a winner does not qualify, we may draw again from that question's correct entries or give no prize.
About the $100
- It is a $100 credit toward rent at Siyata Storage in Rockport. It applies to rent only, not to fees, deposits, locks, protection plans or past-due charges. It has no cash value, is never paid out in cash, and does not combine with any other offer unless we say so.
- It goes on your storage account. If you already rent with us, it comes off your next rent. If you do not rent with us yet, you pay the usual move-in charges, and the credit comes off later bills. If you rent with a move-in discount, the credit comes off rent after the discount has ended.
- Use it within six months of the drawing date. Call 361-200-1492 or email info@siyatastorage.com. If you do not rent with us yet, you must sign a rental agreement and move in within those six months. Renting depends on a unit being open and on our accepting the rental. If we have no unit open when you ask, your six months pause until one opens. After the six months, the prize lapses. Any part not used when your rental ends is lost.
- You may give it to one other person who could have entered, by telling us their name before it goes on an account. That does not change the six-month date. It cannot be sold.
- We may replace it with a prize of equal or greater value. Any taxes are the winner's.
Your name in the paper
By entering, you agree that if you win we may print your first name, last initial and town in the Rockport Pilot and post them on our Facebook page and website. For example: "Mary S., Rockport."
The answer
We plan to post each answer and its winner on our Facebook page on the Thursday after the question closes. We plan for the Rockport Pilot to print most answers and winners about three weeks after the question, with the question repeated in full. The last few go on this website instead. If a question or an answer was printed or posted with a mistake, or a question turns out to have more than one right answer, we decide which answers count, and we may cancel that question's drawing.
Your details
We use your details to run this drawing and to reach you if you win. We never sell them or share them for anyone else's marketing. Our privacy page, siyatastorage.com/privacy, has the details.
If someone takes advantage
We may disqualify any entry or any person, from that question and from later ones, if we believe someone entered more than once for a question, including under other names, phone numbers or email addresses; used a bot, a script or any automatic or bulk entry; gave false details; got an answer from someone who had a copy of the answers, or passed one on, before its question closed; interfered with the entry form or this website; was abusive to anyone; or acted in any other way we judge unfair. If a prize was won that way, we may cancel it, take back a credit already given, or bill back any part already used. That decision is ours alone.
Changing or ending the drawing
We may suspend, change or end the drawing, or any part of it, and change these rules, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. A change applies to questions that open after it is posted on this page, except a change to stop cheating or to fix a technical problem, which applies at once. If we suspend or end the drawing while a question is open, entries that reached us before we post that here still go into that question's drawing. After it is posted, no entry counts, even if an ad still runs or the form still takes entries. A prize already won is honored, unless it was won by breaking these rules.
The fine print
- Our decisions on entries, answers, eligibility and winners are final.
- The odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries.
- We are not responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete or never received; for any failure of a phone, computer, network or website; for printing or typing mistakes in ads, posts or on this website; or for anything else outside our control.
- By entering, you release Siyata Storage, its owner, employees and agents, the Rockport Pilot, and Facebook (Meta) from any claim connected with the drawing or the prize, and agree that they are not liable for any loss or harm arising from it, as far as the law allows.
- This drawing is not run, sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook (Meta).
- These rules are governed by Texas law. Any dispute is decided in Aransas County, Texas.
